Tucson, and especially the northeast area, is a laid back town that does not seem to have changed much in the 40 years I have been visiting and living here. The quiet and routine was little disturbed by the pandemic years. I have always lived in the vicinity of the Grant/Tanque Verde area and everything needed is within a couple of mile radius, from two Trader Joes stores, Target, Costco, and multiple supermarkets, restaurants, cafes, doctors and hospitals. There are city buses but I have not used them. I would definitely recommend having access to a vehicle here. People are generally friendly and polite. I live near Udall Park where there is a senior program where the senior members have hours of access to facilities and their own classes in everything from exercise to arts and crafts. I think Tucson is a pleasant place to live and especially the northeast.
I am a 57 year old male that has over 25 years experience in caregiving for seniors with Alzheimer's, dementia and stroke situation. It's great to find a company that offers genuine people that have knowledge to care and ability to do so.
This would be a great community for those who are still able to drive and walk certain distances. The community is quiet and well kept, very beautiful and scenic with lots of walking trails. There is a grocery store very near by, a library, several restaurants and gyms. However, it is further to the north closer to the base of Mt. Lemmon and there isnt much public transportation. I do see wheel chair friendly sidewalks and business entrances.
