When I brought my husband into the emergency room with a massive hemorrhagic stroke there was no sense of urgency and medical command of the situation. He was in ER in waiting for several hours with no attention and then to be told it was very severe and they could not treat him but he needed to be transported to sister BI hospital in boston. Very devasting that we were told by them that airlift was not possible at the time (with no explanation why) . Also we were informed that an ambulance would transport him but they could not find one to take him so he would have to wait. Finally ambulance came and picked him up (3 hours later!!!!). but in the waiting period we were mortified with confused staff, poor care and attention in the emergency room with no cleaning up of him or making him comfortable as he was soaking wet. Hospital clearly dropped the ball and is very much in need of better education and quality medical workers including attending physicians who provided poor care and no sense of urgency in the ER.
